We thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. One exception, the weather did not cooperate. We spent too much time trying to see the northern lights in a remote location from 10pm to 2am two days in a row in Fairbanks. Many of us saw the lights by our hotel which was more comfortable. Other than that it was great. Some of the highlights was a plane excursion seeing the mountains in Denali National Park and fyling to Coldfoot in the Arctic Circle. We had a great driver and tour director that had personal experience living in Alaska. I personally would have liked to have a couple of hours to celebrate Easter Sunday.

Our Norther Lights tour was exceptional. Some experiences depend on luck or the weather. Our luck was good and so our boat ride in Prince Williams sound was calm and beautiful, my husband's description was peaceful. We saw bald eagles, and sea otters. From the bus and the train we saw a flock of ptarmigans and many, many moose. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights twice, which was my most memorable experience. Our tour guide Kathy Fil was the best. Our group was able to visit the Iditarod Museum on a day they were 'closed' because Kathy's network of connections in Alaska included the museum's manger.Rose

I enjoyed every minute of this tour! Merrin was one of the best tour guides I have had the pleasure of meeting on my Collette tours. I took so many pictures I need to cull them before putting them in an album. My reason for going was to see the Northern Lights and we had a spectacular night of them. Just amazing. But then so was the ride in a dogsled—and meeting a musk ox—and flying over frozen rivers and mountains to Coldfoot and eating a sandwich where those ice truckers eat. Two things to note. We arranged for winter gear rental through the recommended company. They sent the wrong size gear. This also happened to others in our group. The tour manager was able to work it out for us, but not for others. Very disappointing due to the high cost of renting the gear. Also, we priced airfare independently and then got a quote from Collette. It was the identical flights and Collette's price was nearly double what the airline was charging. Also, beware if you make your own airline arrangements and order the transfers from the airport. One of the hotels provides a free shuttle. Uber/Lyft/taxi are a much better deal. It was a good tour with a fun group with a good itinerary, but keep your eyes on the extras if you are price-conscious.

I went to see the Northern Lights and they did put on a show. Also took the optional to Arctic Circle and it was a wonderful trip. Weather was fantastic while I was there which made the trip most enjoyable.

We enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end. The only part was train ride seems too long because after dark you can’t see anything. And the last museum at the University is not necessary. The tour itself is a five but I didn't like Alaska Airlines. No tv screen on back of seats plus I put in for aisle seating. While I got them on the return trip, I was in the middle seat going. Luckily for me no one sat in the aisle seat on the first leg so I was able to move over.Adam Tuchman

This was the most incredible trip that I have ever taken. It was my first group tour and I was apprehensive but everyone was so friendly. We saw the most amazing things along the way: beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife, friendly locals., and the Arctic Circle. Our tour guide, Ann, kept us informed as to what we were seeing. I would love to do a tour with her again. And I definitely will return to Alaska!

Very enjoyable. Had a great tour manager. Seeing the northern lights and dog sledding were definitely the highlights of the trip. The cruise on Prince William Sound, in the snow, was a beautiful experience. The train trip between Fairbanks and Talkeetna had beautiful scenery but was a little long. This is the 3rd trip we've taken with Collette and probably my favorite.

My guide and my bus driver were both super nice and knowledgeable. I had been waiting for an adventure like this all my life and traveling with collette made the whole thing very seamless. Didn't get to see Denali or fly over it. Some breakfasts were not up to par. Probably Covid19 effects related. Meal in Anchorage was at a chain restaurant. No obvious local meats served except at forst hotel for breakfast. Gravy with reindeer meat.
