The tour itself was absolutely fabulous. The tour manager was top notch. So knowledgable about all of the history we were visiting, and such a kind human being. Just a wonderful representation of Egypt and the tour company. It is difficult to find a "favorite" memorable experience because each and every day of the tour was fabulous. The only reason I have not given the tour inclusions the highest rating is because there were two stops at shops that were fairly aggressive in selling their wares; and I found the pricing to be exceptionally high. I am all for supporting local businesses, but don't make me go to a shop that has unrealistic pricing.

The Egypt portion of the tour was fantastic with the exception of the travel schedule. Sahar, our tour manager was exceptional! Her knowledge and experience at managing the group was incredible. I feel we should have been made aware of difficult travel schedule in advance so we were not surprised about have to get up and be ready to catch a flight at 1:00 am then have a Very long day before getting to the hotel that night.

From the moment we arrived in Cairo, to the time we departed from Israel, Collette provided representatives and guides to make our tour seamless and anxiety free. The Sheraton in Cairo, the tours, buses, drivers and food was excellent.. Our tour guide, Ahmed, was not only knowledgeable, but was a truly gifted professional.. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time! I just wish we would have been able to spend more time at the Egyptian Museum . Visiting the Pyramids and going inside was a thrill! The Nile cruise was fun, too. The Sonesta was beautiful ! Similarly, The Movenpick, Petra, our guide, Ali, the tours, bus, driver and food was wonderful in Jordan. Unfortunately, we did not have Whispers, which made it difficult to hear our guide at times. I disappointed in the Movenpick, Dead Sea. The rooms were outdated and parts of the grounds were under construction. Seeing Petra, was very cool! Overall, the Jerusalem extension, was a worthwhile visit.. However, the bus seats were small and leg room limited, the bus driver was unpleasant, and was the only driver who charged us for water. Most of the tours were great and so was the food . However, our guide, Ken, rushed us through Via Dolorosa, and The Church of the Holy Sepulchre , only to have extra time at the end of the day He then tried to convince us to a visit a particular gift shop which we all declined to do!! It just wasn’t right and very disappointing! Although, the hotel in downtown Jerusalem was old ,, the location was fabulous! It was wonderful to be in the heart of downtown and get to shop and eat with the locals, and for just a moment, forget you were a tourist. I really loved that!!

Both tour guides were awesome. They were knowledgeable as well as professional and friendly. The tour was very busy but this allowed us to see many sites. It was especially nice to have our tour manager meet us at the airport in the middle of the night. I don’t know when he sleeps.

It was a terrific tour with a superb guide, Randa, in Egypt. Randa was exceptional. The pace, however, was too compressed (not her fault) and I think the tour should be a few days longer. Things were packed in too tightly in Egypt and we all wished that we had had more time to spend at several of the sight, particularly Abu Simbel and The Valley of the Kings. We only had 1 1/2 hours at Abu Simbel (due to flight issues) and that simply was not enough time especially for the money spent (around $400. pp!). Also more time in Luxor is warranted. The guide in Jordan was good but he did not "read the group" properly on the first day and had us walking through Amman for too long when we were all very tired. Also he totally messed up when our flight home was cancelled at the last minute. He left us on our own at the airport with no assistance. I subsequently learned that he should have called Collette on our behalf and that Collette could have arranged our return airfare instead of leaving us all to try to figure it out ourselves. It was very confusing and lots of the travelers were upset. My ratings below refer ONLY to Randa!
