The National Wildlife Federation is a non-profit advocacy group that works to educate people about animals native to North America and aid in their conservation. The first week of April each year, they celebrate National Wildlife Week, and we are feline good about taking paws to recognise it as well!
As a part of our goals of making travel a force for good, we strongly believe in Travelling in harmony with the animals we come across. In honour of the goals of the NWF, we wanted to shout out just some of the incredible creatures you may see to kick off Wildlife Week. (Plus, all these animal pun opportunities are really a-moos-ing to us.)
Cruise along the waters of Louisiana’s swamps to learn about the ecosystem’s history and ecology from a swamp boat. The swamplands you’ll visit are protected and home to animals like herons, turtles, and eagles, but the star of the show is definitely the alligator.
Check them out on Spotlight on New Orleans and America’s Music Cities.
The black bear is known for its curious nature, and they’re also known for being great climbers. They’ve got poor eyesight, but an excellent sense of smell. This olfactory excellence leads to bears trying to sneak into human food, so make sure you pick up after yourself when you’re visiting a bear’s natural habitat!
Here are some tours that feature national parks where black bears live:
Bluegrass Smoky Mountains
Montana Exploring Big Sky Country
America's Cowboy Country
National Parks
Tybee and Jekyll Islands sit off the coast of Georgia and offer a change in scenery on our tours that bring you to the Empire State of the South. Bottlenose dolphins call the waters surrounding these islands home, and getting the chance to witness pods of dolphins play in the wake of your boat there is a delight. You may even get a chance to see their fellow marine mammal, the manatee, whilst out on the water, so keep your eyes peeled!

We’ve worked hard to make sure that animal-related interactions we offer on tour are positive for both you and the animals we see, and we love to bring travellers on tours that promote animal welfare.
We’re so looking forward for your next trip that includes a taste of nature. You could say … we can bear-ly wait for you to join us!
