San Jose Mission, the tour Guide there MICKEY was excellent with facts & history he presented, as we were walking back to the bus the bells of the church began to ring it was peaceful & spiritual , so moving; and the River boat ride, was relaxing and marvelous to see the interesting places & shared facts the boat-"captain" identified, the problem at the hotel was as we returned from our day out and just having less than an hour, or so to prepare to go to the group dinner, We Arrived having NO water in our hotel room , and our room was not even cleaned for the day, Horrible, to have No use of the bathroom , was extremely, terrible! and we could not even quickly wash or shower for dinner, and the front desk, just said use the bathroom on the main floor,, well yes to just go to the bathroom but, can't actually bathe, or wash in the rest room, that was a bit shocking, So that hotel thing leaves us with a Not so happy memory, the location of the Hotel was nice and great to have just immediate access to the river walk. (If we did-not have that water issue and our room had been cleaned the hotel was over all great but once you don't feel respected as a guest, it IS not something that is easy to forget., and than the elevators were out! very Slow we are aware another couple had their room changed but we were not provided with a room change ) Luenkenbach TX was an unique kind of stop, get that Willie Nelson song, on the radio & WOW ! we're back there, Howdy ! the other aspect I like to mention was the the last "farewell dinner was a bit too late , we wish the dinner could have started earlier in the day, or maybe change it to a farewell lunch, eating after 7:00 pm is not he best before an early AM flight It's great to meet and talk with the group but everyone didn't get served and finish until after 8:30 PM and than we had to walk 3 blocks back to the Hotel. The Botanical Garden was a beautiful day and still some flowers in bloom, of course it was in transition from the Fall venue and setting up for the "holidays" but it was nice. The museum in Fredricksberg, had articles and treasures that Pearl Harbor, does not even have and the Guides there were very knowledgeable. The Alamo, in transition with the new reconstruction, but the Alamo, a place we had only seen in the movies , it was fantastic to visit in person. Packed a spotlight tour of San Antonio in a few days,, the tour coach driver Paul, one very safe driver and a nice guy. and helpful.

Well, not a museum person but no other option unless I just didn't travel with the group. Had to rent a wheelchair for my 82 year old sister who could not walk the distance for the Mission, Botanical Gardens. (a lot longer than expected). Thank you for the daily breakfast that was prepared, but was disappointed that there was no variety daily. Here we are in the south of Texas and no biscuits and gravy? On our last day, went to WHATABURGER and found out they served breakfast and they had this and more on their menu. Have you eaten there at the Hotel? Hash browns where stuck to the bottom of the pan, eggs were scrambled but watery, bacon done nice and crispy. Very little bread, no bagels, butter was so cold you couldn't butter the toast. Juice was only served on our last day. Orange, Cranberry Apple..(coffee and tea offered daily) Thought our accommodations included a KING bed. Next time, I need to request a Handicap room(if possible) I have no pictures or movies to send you.

It covered everything I wanted to see in San Antonio and then some. The visits to Leukenbach and Fredericksburg were wonderful. The Pacific War museum in Fredericksburg was the best military museum I have ever seen. The riverwalk cruise was enjoyable, and of course the Alamo mission was a major highlight, as was the visit to one of the other missions. I also enjoyed the Texas bar-b-que. The Marriott hotel on the riverwalk was perfectly located and very comfortable.

There were not enough scheduled activities which resulted in a lot of down time. Also, there was too much time allotted for El Mercado and Hotel Emma. I think it was assumed that we would dine at both places which not everyone did There was more than adequate time to see the botanical gardens during the day and to view the holiday lights at night. We were offered the botanical gardens or the museum. We wished we could have done both. The included dinners were both excellent. Our tour guide was very personable. However, she did not consider her audience was senior citizens. She walked ahead and several had difficulty keeping up and could not hear her. Her directions were often unclear. The hotel was very nice. However, we had to wait over two hours to get into our rooms. Our room was not cleaned on one occasion, and we had to call the desk to get fresh towels. San Antonio and the Riverwalk were beautiful. We just wished we had seen and done more during our time there.

Being from Texas, seeing the Alamo once again. Was there in 1984 with my wife for the Hemis-Fair. Did not feel that the Fredericksburg time was adequate for eating and seeing the WWII MUseum. The Witte Museum was very well done, informative and nicely arranged exhibits. The Sandy Oaks Olive Ranch was interesting and a breath of fressh Texas air. Even Bluebonnets which are hard to find.

Really liked the Alamo. Also was surprised how much we enjoyed and learned about the LBJ Ranch tour. Not one of my favorite presidents, but very interesting. A better choice could have been made for dinner than the Asian fusion restaurant. Something more appropriate to the Texas culture would have been more desirable.

The San Antonio tour was very well planned and included visits to the major sights that we wanted to see and experience, like: The Alamo, LBJ Ranch, Fredericksburg, Bandera where we enjoyed a traditional cowboy barbecue. Highlights of our trip were the hayride and line dancing which were a lot of fun. We found the people of San Antonio very nice and friendly. Needless to say the River Walk, with its many restaurants, was delightful.

The tour was excellent , and was mostly well paced. I did think we spent a little too much time in Fredericksburg. I especially liked the LBJ ranch. We got to see the LBJ White House , where he spent most of his time during his presidency. It was wonderful! I also particularly liked the Texas barbecue at the Mayan Ranch. The food was great! Our visit to the olive ranch was all right, but I would have preferred to go somewhere else of interest. The coach driver, Paul, was excellent, and provided bottled water to drink on the ride. He and Jackie worked well together, and provided a fun atmosphere throughout the tour. Overall, it was a great experience!
