Bibury
Discover Bibury, a truly picture-perfect village in the Cotswolds. As you travel along the iconic Arlington Row, you’ll see the famous honey-coloured cottages that give the Cotswolds its reputation as one of the most beautiful countryside destinations. If this spot looks familiar, it’s likely because you’ve seen it on the big screen in Bridget Jones’s Diary and Stardust.
Chipping Campden
The exquisite old market town of Chipping Campden is a unique haven for arts and crafts lovers. Immerse yourself in the handmade culture and visit Old Silk Mill on Sheep Street to check out a variety of modern artisans. For even more history on Chipping Camden’s connection to craftsmanship, visit the Court Barn Museum.
Stow-on-the-Wold
One of the smaller Cotswold villages, Stow-on-the-Wold offers plenty to do in a small space. From cozy tea shops to gorgeous gardens and walking trails to explore, the attractions found here will further affirm your love for the Cotswolds. Plus, with the highest elevation of all the Cotswold towns (800 feet above sea level), you’re likely to take in the Cotswolds from a unique vantage point.
Bourton-on-the-Water
For even more scenic beauty, head to the village affectionately called “Venice of the Cotswolds,” Bourton-on-the-Water. Cross one of the arched stone bridges across the River Windrush and explore the village along one of the several footpaths. Snowshill Manor
Admire an impressive collection of collectables from architect and former owner of Snowshill Manor, Charles Paget Wade. Wade gave up the house to the National Trust in 1951 and it was later opened to show Wade’s multitude of eclectic antiques. A sight of equal beauty is the manor itself, a 16th century country house built from local stone. We suggest leaving yourself time to explore the manor’s beautiful Arts and Crafts-style gardens.
Althorp House and Estate
Take a fascinating tour of the regal Althorp House and Estate, and discover the intrigue of Britain’s Spencer dynasty, family of Princess Diana. Walk through the family’s private apartments and learn of this family’s provocative legacy.
Berkeley Castle
Step back in time and witness the medieval brilliance of the Berkeley Castle. Study monuments dating back to the 12th century while learning about the modern day Berkeley family and their role in shaping England’s history. For a great retrospective of the Cotswolds, head here.
Shakespeare’s Birthplace
For fans of Shakespeare, head to Warwickshire to see the great English bard’s birthplace. Passed from different family members throughout the years, the home that once housed Shakespeare is now carefully preserved by a Trust. With exhibitions and workshops and readings of the great late poet’s work, this is a great site put on your travel itinerary.
Natural Wonders

Hidcote Manor Garden
Head to one of the most influential Arts and Crafts gardens in Britain and experience floral bliss. Walk through this blooming sanctuary comprised of linked "rooms" of other hedge-like plants and discover several beautifully maintained gardens. Batsford Arboretum
Witness one of the largest private tree collections in the country, Batsford Arboretum. No matter the season, the arboretum offers an expansive array of various trees species, wild gardens, and stunning views across the Evenlode Valley. The Cotswold Way
The Cotswolds are best experienced by foot, and at Cotswold Way, you’ll have ample opportunity to do just that. The trail is 102 miles long and runs through iconic villages, such as Snowshill, Cranham & Painswick. We suggest you pack a pair of comfortable walking shoes!
