Enjoyed the walking tours in Charleston and Savannah; so many details and so much history was explored. The Mercer House in Savannah is a must see. Included meals were plentiful and delicious. One of my all-time favorite group travel experiences! It was great having some included choices, such as going out to Ft Sumpter or taking a walking tour of Charleston. I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour and our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Companions who chose to go to the fort found it very moving to be a part of the morning flag raising ceremony. Dining options within walking distance of hotels in both Charleston and Savannah were plentiful and high-quality. The plantation visit was also very positive - with the highlight being the presentation about the Gullah people. The speaker / performer was wonderful and very talented! The time on Jekyll Island was amazing…probably my favorite part of the trip! The historic resort was lovely and staff were the epitome of southern hospitality! I do hope to return there soon for time to explore more of the options the island has to offer. Our tour manager, Jen Jett is a WEALTH of knowledge; she was warm and friendly, helpful to each guest, and very professional. One of the very best “guides” I’ve ever gotten to travel with. (And as a frequent leader of church travel groups, you may be aware that I have high expectations of the tour manager.) Jen met or exceeded all expectations! The only suggestion I might make for a change is to consider offering your travelers an option of more than one “house museum” to visit in Savannah. The Mercer Williams house tour was okay, but several of us found the Gordon Low home and tour to be much more enjoyable, thorough, and informative. I think that day of touring could be more meaningful if we had 2 houses to choose from for visits. Thank you, Collette, for a First Class travel experience.

The tour itself was great, but sometimes rushed (the walking tours). 1 extra day in the 2 cities would've been nice. The plane trips, although on time, used a crazy route: 3 planes with 2 stopovers to get there. 2 planes with 1 stopover to get back, no provided meals, & we had to pay $30 for 1 piece of checked luggage, each way. (Delta airlines). We hadn't been told. Favorite: the slave mart museum (Collette didn't tell us re this. A personal friend did.), & the horse-drawn trolley/carriage.

The breakfast at the 1st hotel in Charleston was less than average. The hotel in Savannah was nice and a great location but the street noise kept us up the 1st night. We didn't realize they had a sound machine in the room. Using that plus an app on our 2 phones helped immensely. The guide for walking tour of Savannah was not great. All places visited were great. Only criticisms relate to the hotels in Charleston and Savannah, which were really ordinary. Jekyll Island accommodation first-class.

First dinner that was included had bad food and service. Was told that sometimes this place was bad and sometime good. This restaurant should be replaced on the tour. Keeping a place like this is unfair to your customers. Should not have to pay for it. The Fountain of Youth Park was a waist of time. Very run down and did not enjoy at all. Should have done more walking on the Savannah tour. Could not see much from the tour bus, which didn't navigate the area very well anyway. Wish the brochure was more specific on areas we are touring so when we are on our own we don't check these spaces out first and then see them again. The hotel in Savannah had a terrible breakfast, hot food was cold. The house we toured in Savannah was OK. There are better ones to tour. Over all it was very nice but when you are paying that much you expect a little more. In all honesty the things we arranged on our own during free time and our day we got there early we liked the best.

Omni Hotel Jacksonville...the best accommodation. Wish the day events could begin a bit later to allow a more leisurely breakfast. Would have liked more time during the lunch break to do more town/shops browsing. Felt "rushed"; tour manager wanted us to see as much as possible n use this trip only as an introduction to go back to see the cities again at a more leisurely pace n at another time. Totally understand this logic.

We had an amazing tour guide who was very personable, quickly learned everyone's names and did everything she could possibly do to make our trip informative, entertaining and memorable! I enjoyed all the destinations as we had been planning for this tour for two years to celebrate our monumental 60th birthdays and we were not disappointed! Jekyll island was a great starting point as it was relaxing and so historically fascinating! I specifically enjoyed the info about the "squares" in Savannah, the tour of the Citadel and my personal reason for the trip, touring the Juliette Lowe home as my friends and I grew up together as Girl Scouts. When our tour stopped for a second for all the Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to take a group picture on the back steps, my dream was achieved-there were nearly 20 of us! I also truly enjoyed getting to tour the Boone Hall plantation and see the slave quarters there. Overall, we had a great trip and appreciated the additional info we gained from our "guest tour guides" and enjoyed the food, companionship and other tour participants- we even set up a Facebook page to share pictures and keep in contact. Our Southern Charm tour was a great way to celebrate turning 60!

I have taken five trips with Tauck and will continue to do so.. the dinners were poor, the choice of places to dine poor, but you get what you pay for. The hotel in Savannah was horrible, too bad they are extending this portion of the tour.

The extra meal that we paid $75,00 each was not worth it. Should have been about $35.00 each. The experience at Jekyll Island for 2 days was beautiful but it was like being on a deserted island with no stores or places to eat.

We expected the tour to focus on the antebellum south, both the good and the bad, but only saw a slight exposure at the plantation. Although the tour was not at fault, we found the food in Charleston consistently overcooked and unpleasant. Further the two night stay was too long and should instead be reduced in favor of Savannah, which we loved. Similarly the time at Jekyll Island was excessive for what it offered. We would have enjoyed a night in Beauford instead. Consider this as from my husband Bob as well.

We would have reduced the time spent in Jekyl sland and spent more time in Savannah. We enjoyed the time spent in Beaufort and the buggy ride. All the guides were good and knowledgeable. Wanda was especially accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable.

Could have used a few more options while in the cities of Savannah and Charleston. Could have used an extra day in Savannah for sure, and a night in St. Augustine. Was disappointed that there was no welcome dinner on the first night. So the tour was actually 5 days, not seven. Front and end days were used for travel.

I was especially pleased with the included meals and the variety of options available to us. In addition, all of the hotels were centrally located within easy walking distance of many interesting places. I was not particularly happy with our tour manager. I asked her for directions to a specific drugstore near the hotel (I had to pick up a script my doctor had called in for me). I was told it was a couple blocks and she pointed in a direction and said I couldn't miss it and walked away. After walking (at night in the dark) four large blocks, I asked a passerby who gave me very specific directions and then walked there with me. It was not even on the street, the tour manager set me out on. In addition, there was NO VISIBLE SIGN identifying the drugstore on the outside (probably a Charleston zoning

Tour not up to what I expect and have experienced with your company. Seeing things that were not necessary. Just seemed to not have that good feel to it.If I have to pick something. I would pick the plantation. Jekyll island needs only 1 night there. Nothing to do there.
