This has been sent previously. The tour manager in my group was so distracted with something else she read a book while on the bus/train and never showed us a thing. She expected us to get out in the rain , walk in puddles to shops and be picked up in an hour on the land trip while she went to the hotel and waited. She looked at the phone during dinner to see her dogs at doggie day care. When asked where a meeting was on the ship she replied”look it up on the map”! Name:Tessa Moore. Collette has not been good about any type of apology! These are only a few of what happened with our tour guide….she did nothing and we expected to tip her?? We never saw her on the ship except at dinner, late each night!

Very nice for being 1st time cruisers.Did not disappoint. What was included. Was very nice.We also did some excursions thru Holland which were very nice.I just wish we were able to spend more time at some of the ports to be able to sight see alittle more. This started out as a Christmas conversation that was going to be my 3 siblings and spouses. Then got opened up to 38 of us friends, classmates, neighbors,All from the town of Port Byron Il and surrounding areas. My sister in law Kris Klavon was the one that did all of the working putting this together and she was the most help to alot of us that are not phone savvy and computer users. She deserves alot of the credit for this trip.My husband and I enjoyed our trip.

We had no idea that Collette was turning us over to Holland America and that we would be traveling with such a large group, plus three other cruise ships everywhere. The Westmark Hotel in Fairbanks is a filthy dump. An activity should have been planned in Fairbanks as you brought us in two days before the tour started. I called Collette three weeks before the trip to confirm wine would be served with dinner on the ship and was told YES. That didn't happen. We could have just booked through Holland America and cut Collette out. This was nothing like our first Collette trip to Italy. Chris, our tour guide was helpful with the logistics. On some excursions, there wasn't even room for him. For our preference, it was too many days on the ship. Please tell Holland America to correct their literature: it's JOHNS Hopkins, not John.

The whole tour was very good except for the last day. Collette really messed up there. They were going to drop us off after leaving the ship at 10:00 AM in the airport, and our plane didn’t leave until 11:50 PM! Our director from the University who was the organizer for this trip, got ahold of Collette and came up with an all day bus tour in Vancouver. However, by then everyone was “toured out” and exhausted. The bus driver did a great job of trying to keep us entertained, but how much is there to see in Vancouver for 7 hours? It was poor planning all the way around. Also, the train trip excursion should have included lunch and a drink. Food was expensive and went through the lunch hour. We have been on other train excursions, and lunch was always included. Go Ahead Travel always makes sure those the train trips are special.

The tour was Great, our guide was awesome. We loved the options of adding excursions. We loved our flight seeing Ketchican the best, landing in the middle of the fjord and experiencing the peacefulness.... Seeing and learning about the glaciers, experiencing life in Alaska was once in a lifetime for us. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was one of the hotels needed updated and the weather was record breaking highs and most the facilities did not have any kind of air conditioning. I also expected more meals to be included for the price.

There were a few. I loved the train trip. Beautiful countryside. I loved the lodges we stayed in. The Paddleboat ride and lunch were great. One issue not so great was I was suppose to get a balcony on the ship which I did not get. The stateroom was not good. The flight home was not up to speed and then to be dropped off away from the gate and have to walk up a flight is stairs with bags was not fun. That could of been better.

We were on the trip to see all we could of Alaska and really weren't into the entertainment and shopping which were major components of the Princess experience. We loved the river boat trip, the excursions into Denali and all the views of the coast as we cruised to Vancouver. The time we spent viewing the glaciers was unexpectedly amazing and awe inspiring. We were very disappointed that we were not able to book a minisuite on the cruise ship via Collette.

Our tour manager was Chuck Tracy. Chuck was truly outstanding! He was, in fact, the reason I have rated this tour so highly. My wife had some mobility issues and Chuck's compassion and thoughtfulness made our lives much easier during the tour and cruise. Walking is certainly taken for granted by those of us who have no impairment. This makes it difficult for the unimpaired to communicate the degree of rigor involved in boarding buses, ships and airplanes. This is especially evident in the descriptions of walking and stair climbing in the shore excursion information.

We were happy with the locations we were brought to and where we stayed. We liked that we were able to have free time to visit locations we found interesting, and that our guide advised us of things we should see and not see. Some of the stops on the land portion of the trip we understood were tourist traps so we conducted our selves appropriately. We were able to get pictures of the local wild life while were on the bus tours. We found the towns of Alaska to be fun to see and the locations a once in a life time visit. We loved it.
