Pawtucket, RI (December 16, 2024) – Collette is offering a discount for select small group Explorations departures as a part of December’s Hot Deals. Travellers can save up to $550 when booking the May 15, 2025 departure for “Icelandic Adventure,” and up to $450 the April 1, 2025 departure of “Exploring Iberia: Southern Spain to Coastal Portugal,” or the April 28, 2025 departure of “Italy’s Treasures.”
“Small group Explorations tours have emerged as some of our more popular experiences,” said Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, president & CEO of Collette. “We’ve been designing small group journeys since 2008, allowing travellers to explore destinations in ways that aren’t always possible with larger groups. All Explorations itineraries are tailored specifically to take advantage of the lower number of travellers. This means more intimate excursions, boutique hotels, and unique methods of transportation. Our December Hot Deals make for an excellent opportunity for travellers to experience more for less.”
The 10-day “Icelandic Adventure” features a whale watching expedition in Husavik outfitted with RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats), which hold just 12 passengers apiece, which brings travellers closer to the whales. Other highlights include learning about the island’s agricultural history during a visit to Steinnes Horse Farm, climbing up the Langjökull glacier and then venturing through the world’s longest man-made ice tunnel aboard a “super truck,” and plenty of stops at various coastal shops and restaurants.
The “Exploring Iberia: Southern Spain to Coastal Portugal” tour guides travellers along the Mediterranean coast, where they’ll explore bustling cities and enjoy peaceful stays. They’ll learn about the history of Flamenco with a hands-on lesson in Seville. In Lisbon, they’ll travel by tram through cobbled narrow streets and visit Belem, home to the Jerónimos Monastery, before they relax on Portugal’s Riviera during a 3-night stay.
“Italy’s Treasures” showcases the nation’s incredible history, indelible culture, and unforgettable cuisine. Highlights include exploring the marble quarries of Carrara, where Michelangelo obtained the marble for his statue of David, a leisurely four-night stay at a Tuscan Villa where they learn to make local cuisine during a hands-on cooking class, and a journey to Venice to explore the city’s winding canals and bridges.
