PAWTUCKET, RI, July 1, 2018 – Collette, Rhode Island-based global tour operator, recently hosted a two-day global travel forum in Providence, Rhode Island that brought together over 400 leaders in the travel industry from all over the world. The Future of Travel summit focused on many aspects in travel including block chain technology, responsible tourism, brand advocates and much more.
“We had the unique opportunity to bring together members of the travel community that don’t typically interact,” said Dan Sullivan Jr., CEO of Collette. “The speakers, sessions and panelists were phenomenal and we enjoyed showcasing Rhode Island throughout the week.”
The conference began the morning of Thursday, July 21 with tours of the Collette headquarters in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. There, conference attendees witnessed the substantial growth in the company over the last five years.
Peter Greenberg, travel editor at CBS News and producer and co-host at PBS, a keynote speaker of the event and panelist moderator, spoke at length about staying in the moment and not letting fear intervene with the opportunity to travel. He reminded attendees to put down the phone once in a while and have real meaningful conversations. Panel discussions were moderated by Arnie Weissmann, Terry Dale, and Melinda Bostwick surrounding the following topics: Predicting Hot Destinations and Trends Before they Happen, Impact Travel and the role of Corporate Social Responsibility, as well as Leveraging Brand Advocates to Grow Business in the Travel Space
The centennial celebration also included a night of dinner, dancing and a detailed overview of Collette’s company and culture, featuring videos of their 100 year history.
